SEMH specialist school - Primary Nurture Teacher

We are looking for a KS3 Nurture Teacher for a specialist SEMH school in Merton. KS3 Nurture Teacher. The school caters for students who are unable to access mainstream education. The school is a small setting with a very therapeutic and nurturing approach. The school caters to students with very complex SEMH needs, and some students have ECHPs. We support Education providers that educate children and young people who cannot access any other formal educational settings for many reasons – these are the most vulnerable, at-risk and hard to reach in our community. Understanding their SEMH needs must be met before any academic development can happen. Understanding their SEMH needs is essential in these roles, and we seek individuals who can positively impact them.

What We Are looking for 

  • Therapeutic teaching approach
  • Ideally, Primary trained 
  • Ability to teach core subjects 
  • Experience in teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
  • Positive role model to support communication, with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
  • Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background

  • The passion for teaching and inspiring young people during a crucial stage of their personal and academic development.
  • A nurturing, patient, empathetic and holistic approach
  • QTS/QTLS or significant teaching experience
