We are recruiting for a Humanities Teacher for a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Thurrock. The headteacher has high standard when it comes to teaching and as such expects teachers to have high aspirations for their pupils.
PRU Humanities Teacher
- Deliver the curriculum to all students, adjusting the material should it be necessary to suit specific needs.
- Responsibility of creating and preparing lessons.
- You will be accountable for the attainment and progress of pupil progress.
- Establish a safe, purposeful and stimulating environment, keeping the school’s core value of mutual respect at the forefront.
Essential criteria for this role
- Previous experience of working with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies.
- Qualification to the equivalent of degree level in a specialist subject or a related subject
- You enjoy using a therapeutic approach to teaching.
- Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background.
- QTS not essential – but must have good teaching experience
