The role

I am looking for an experienced teaching assistant to work in a pupil referral unit based in Hackney. This unit covers a range of ages from primary school all the way up to year 11. The unit deals with challenging behaviour of young people who aren’t able to attend mainstream schools. The students at this school are at risk of not risking their full potential, therefore I am looking for a strong candidate determined to help those who struggle the most to stay on track.

This school is in an excellent city location and has a new purpose built building with excellent sporting facilities!

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate for this role must have a genuine passion for working with young people and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives. You will already have teaching assistant experience and a strong educational skill set. This is a great opportunity for someone to showcase their passion for working with children with SEND and demonstrate their desire to help young people.

Working in this environment does bring challenging behaviour, therefore you would be expected to act appropriately and feel comfortable reacting to difficult situations.

What’s in it for you?

  • The opportunity to work in a school with a wide age range
  • An easily accessible school with good transport links
  • The opportunity to work in a diverse and inclusive school
  • To work with a great team of support staff
  • PAYE payments
