Early Years Learning Support Assistant Hackney Full time Nursery within a MS Primary January 2026 start £95 per day PAYE Do you want to be part of an outstanding primary school based in the heart of Hackney? Would you want to gain more experience working with early years children that have special needs? Are you a energetic, engaging person that enjoys activity based learning? I am supporting a large primary school in Hackney that have a nursery base within their school, and will be looking for support from January 2026. You will be working 2:1 with a young boy that has suspected autism and dysregulated behaviour. A typical day within this class will be working with children age 4 - 6 that could be non-verbal, have global delay, learning difficulties and autism, you will be working closely to build trust and rapport with these students teaching them the early life skills they need to thrive within their education, preparing them for primary school. You will be taking part in a lot of activity based learning, using sensory toys, messy play, activities indoors & outdoors, and being creative to keep all children engaged in their day-day learning. Some other duties are as follows; Helping students regulate emotions Responsible for personal care Collaborating and supporting the teacher Assisting during lunch time General oversight of the classroom behaviour Some qualities this school will look for are; Experience within EYFS Certification within Level 2 - 3 childcare First aid trained (bonus but can be put under training) Comfortable with personal care Experience with alternative communication tools, such as PECs Pro-active and can work of their own initiative Energetic and friendly personality Ability to work well with others and communicate professionally I am also interested in graduates that are seeking to start their career within SEN education, however you must have a genuine interest and passion for helping children with special needs.
