Are you a nurturing and resilient person looking to work with children with Special Educational Needs?

Do you have previous experience supporting SEN children within a school environment?

A great opportunity has arisen to work young people with autism in the Southwark/Lewisham area. The role includes weekly training and the chance to work alongside a wide range of students in the classroom environment, which makes it a great opportunity for both trainees/graduates as well as applicants with previous experience.

You’ll be working with young people aged 11 to 19 and helping to assist them with individual targets and skills with a focus on supporting independence, improved behaviour and social interaction. The aim is to support the students going into the next stages of their education or into the first stages of their career.

About the School where you will be the School Autism Support Assistant: 

All the students at the school are young people with autism, studying KS3, KS4 and KS5 between the ages of 11 to 19. They promote healthy lifestyle for their students and encourage the development of their social skills and core skills. They work alongside parents and carers to ensure their students have the best environment possible to thrive in with an enthesis on making them feel included in the local and wider community.
