ASAP Start

  • Are you an Occupational Therapist?
  • Are you registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)?
  • Do you have paediatric experience?

Parker Smith Inclusion is an ethical, people-focused SEND recruitment consultancy. We have several Occupational Therapist vacancies available, and we are actively looking to connect with individuals looking to work in paediatrics or education.

We want to speak to professionals who are passionate about working with vulnerable children and young people with highly complex needs.

We are seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to join a beautiful SEND school in Kingston, South West London. The school has an excellent provision for pupils with Autism / ASC and associated learning difficulties.

About the Occupational Therapist role

A school-based Occupational Therapist aims to help vulnerable children and young people be as independent as possible. You will look at the whole child, tackling individual tasks and helping children find ways to do what they need and want to do.

You will also liaise closely with the multi-disciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, and teaching/support staff. You will engage with the children and young people within the school in innovative, helpful therapeutic and meaningful activities, supporting them in learning and reaching their full potential.

Occupational Therapist's Requirements

  • You must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy degree and be HCPC registered
  • You will need solid experience, ideally working with highly vulnerable children and young people or children with Autism/ASC and learning disabilities
  • Overseas-trained and newly qualified Band 5 Occupational Therapists are welcome to apply!
  • In line with NHS band scales, however, please note that sometimes your salary will be pro-rated as it is term-time only. The working hours are 8:30am to 4pm, so for our OTs looking for work-life balance, this is a huge benefit. This also benefits our OTs who work privately or like to have free time to work on other projects!
