Secondary Teaching Assistant

East London

£400 - £500 per week PAYE

September start

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with social emotional, and mental health disorders?

Do you have experience working as a Secondary Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor with young people who are not able to attend mainstream school and have a background of behavioural challenges? Are you keen to make a difference to the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEND/SEMH?

Even if your experience is informal/voluntary, I want to hear from you! The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex behaviour challenges and sometimes associated SEND.

Secondary Teaching Assistant requirements:

  • Experience of working with young people with SEND and/or Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties or experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
  • Secondary Teaching Assistant /  Learning Mentor / Youth Worker experience
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
  • A passion for working with SEND is essential

What you can expect as a Secondary Teaching Assistant 

  • Excellent experience and training for aspiring Teachers, Pastoral workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, and Social Workers

  • You will be working with students of secondary school age with social emotional mental health needs, all of which cannot attend mainstream school
