SEMH Practitioner 

Salary - £100 - £120 per day PAYE 

Temp to perm - Actual permanent salary - £26,000-£28,000

Location - Newham

I am working with a Pioneering Pupil referral unit who are looking for an experienced SEMH Practitioner who is ready for their next challenge and ready to help their students grow, develop and support each childs’ success as they progress onto future education provision and adult life. The aim of this PRU is to remove barriers to learning for each individual student, they passionately believe that each you person deserves the opportunity to succeed and learn!

The SEMH Practitioner Role 

I am currently recruiting for a SEMH Practitioner, who would be working within a PRU in Newham, they are looking for an experienced SEMH Practitioner to work alongside a team of experienced SEN and Multi-Disciplinary Team working closely with the SENCO to ensure the delivery and support for the pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health. You will be required to support the development of universal SEND intervention and strategies targeting the areas of SEMH and the behaviour of the pupils.

What does this SEMH Practitioner role involve?

  • This SEMH Practitioner post holder will be responsible for the mentoring and supervision of Apprentice Teaching Assistants.
  • As the SEMH Practitioner will work alongside the Senco and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the correct interventions and supports are in place for entry into the PRUs and also back into mainstream school
  • Work with the SENCO to coordinate and carry out Reviews / Transition Reviews for pupils with Educational Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • As the SEMH Practitioner you will need to develop intervention programmes around key areas of learning for pupils.
