Parker Smith Inclusion are seeking Primary KS2 Teacher for an SEMH school in South East London, Greenwich. The school caters for students who are unable to access mainstream education with SEMH needs, and sometimes a dual diagnosis of autism.

 

What we are looking for in an SEMH Primary Teacher:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching to KS2 students with SEMH needs, following the National Curriculum and SEMH guidelines.
  • Create and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of each student.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to students who may require additional support in their learning.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and other staff members to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
  • Assess and monitor student progress regularly, using a range of assessment methods and tools.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and inclusive school culture that supports student well-being and success.

 

What We Are Looking for in an SEMH Primary Teacher:

  • Therapeutic teaching approach
  • Able to deliver primary curriculum
  • Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
  • Positive role model to support communication with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach
  • Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background would be beneficial but this is open to teachers looking to move into this field
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships with students
  • Successful completion of teacher training
