SEMH TEACHING ASSISTANT - £450 - £500 per week PAYE

Tower Hamlets 

Salary - £90-£100 per day PAYE 

I am currently working with an inspiring specialist SEND Secondary School who are looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to support their classroom teachers. They are highly respected leaders in SEN and trauma-informed practice. Their ethos is about empowering each and every one of their students. They are constantly creating new imaginative projects that stimulate the children and promote independence. They have fantastic facilities that they also kindly share with community groups. Being a part of this school feels just like a family environment who are continually celebrating each other.  

This SEMH Teaching Assistant role

  • Who can support other members of staff and work together to inspire and engage the SEN students
  • The Ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant would have 1-2 years of experience working with children with Social Emotional Mental Health needs 
  • That will use their own initiative and experience in day-to-day life in school
  • Who recognises that we all learn differently and each student is individual so flexibility is key
  • That is empathetic to the children’s needs especially as some of the students have come from extremely diverse backgrounds
  • Who is able to positively communicate and model resolving issues and conflict in a calm manor which then helps the students to emulate this
  • That is willing to not only support the students but also their families and carers
  • Who will be a part of making sure students the leave the school environment confident about building a life for themselves
