I am working with a fantastic primary school in Waltham forest, which caters for children in EYFS - who have been diagnosed with ASC, ADHD, Down's Syndrome and SEMH.
This is a fantastic opportunity for any individual who is looking to gain practical and clinical experience in the field of special needs education.
Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant requirements
- Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
- Ideally previous experience (formal or informal) supporting children with autism or other special educational needs
- CACHE Level 3 desirable
- A proactive and positive individual who is always striving to meet children's learning needs.
- Ability to build rapport with children
- Willingness to learn and partake in any additional training
- Strong behaviour management skills, ability to de-escalate situations and give strong direction
- A good sense of humour and a optimistic outlook
What you can expect as a Early Years SEN TA:
- Your role as a Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant will be to support a child with special educational needs however the role will vary from day to day, you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations
- For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path

Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only and rates will vary depending on the role and your experience. Please bear in mind that all school based work will be term time only.
