About the school:

This secondary SEN school, based in Croydon has recently moved to a brand-new, purpose-built building with large outdoor learning/therapy space. The school have an excellent track record for supporting a broad range of SEND, including SLD and PMLD and have a knowledgeable and supportive SALT.


As a Learning Mentor you will closely support students in a classroom setting as well as 1:1 with certain students. You will possess a calm and nurturing demeanour to help with behavioural and emotional regulation when their behaviour is challenging. You will need to be positive and patient, proactive, engaging, and resilient. This is a permanent SEN Learning Mentor contract to start immediately, and salary offer will depend on experience and is up to £22,000 (actual term time salary)


PMLD Teaching Assistant requirements

  • Passionate about supporting students with SEND
  • Able to communicate using PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables (Beneficial)
  • Committed to personal development and learning specialist skills
  • Proactive and flexible
  • Ability to be a team player and build rapport quickly
  • Previous SEN support experience is essential
