What is Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)?

PDA is a profile of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) characterised by an extreme avoidance of everyday demands and requests. Children with PDA may exhibit anxiety, difficulties with flexibility, and a need for control. Occupational Therapists play a vital role in helping these children manage their sensory sensitivities and develop essential life skills.
