SEN School-Based Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT)

Kingston Upon Thames, South West London / Surrey

Full-time (term time only)

ASAP or Flexible Start Date

£30,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on NHS Band Scales/experience

Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) or a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT)? Are you passionate about children's well-being? We are working in partnership with a prestigious SEN school located in Kingston Upon Thames, South West London. The school provides a safe, calm, and creative learning environment for pupils with Autism/ASC/ASD and other additional needs and associated learning difficulties. This position is full-time and permanent.

Ideal Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT):

  • Must be HCPC registered or currently in process
  • Has a degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
  • Has experience working with children and young people with special needs, particularly with Autism/ASC/ASD and associated learning difficulties
  • Has personal interests in supporting children and young people with special needs
  • A positive, proactive, and patient individual who has the ability to build good working relationships with children, teachers, parents, and carers
  • A team player and has great communication skills

 

Speech and Language Therapist's Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing both individual and group speech and language therapy services to children
  • Attending and contributing to staff meetings and Annual Review meetings
  • Working closely with the rest of the multidisciplinary team, as well as teachers and support staff
  • Providing a creative and nurturing learning environment where children can reach their potential
  • Being fully aware of the school policy and implementing Health and Safety Regulations, including Risk Assessment
