SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH/ASD)

I am working with a fantastic SEN school in the borough of Croydon who are seeking an ambitious SEN Teaching Assistant to join them in the new academic year. This school caters for students with ASD (Autism), SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) and associated complex behaviour. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting KS1 and KS2. 

This school offers a creative and tailored curriculum to each individual student and prepared them for adult life. They pride themselves in the positive relationships that are formed throughout the school. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be welcomed into a highly inclusive working environment where well-being is at the heart of everything they do. 

Requirements of a SEN Teaching Assistant

  • The perfect SEN Teaching Assistant should be passionate about supporting young people with complex SEN and SEMH.
  • Experience supporting individuals with SEMH or Autism would be ideal. However, a Teaching Assistant who has knowledge of a variety of SEN and is willing to get stuck in is desirable
  • A SEN Teaching Assistant must be able to build and maintain positive relationships with students and staff
  • Is able to set professional boundaries whilst following the school's code of conduct
  • Goes above and beyond to change the lives of young people
  • SEN Teaching Assistants should see SEN as a valuable career opportunity
