SEN Teaching Assistant

Location – Coulsden

Salary – 18,000-£22,000

I’m working with a school in Coulsden who are seeking an experienced SEN teaching assistant to work with young adults with complex needs, they are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team of high skilled professionals with 20 years’ experience in education and build on their vision of excellence.

The perfect SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Ideally you would have experience working with either Makaton or PECs, if not there is training available.
  • As a SEN Teaching Assistant you should be willing to learn and adapt
  • As the SEN Teaching Assistant you should have a Positive can do attitude
  • Genuine passion for working with children with SEND
  • Are you a Teaching Assistant with a Resilient nature

About the school:

This secondary SEN school, based in Croydon has recently moved to a brand-new, purpose-built building with a large outdoor learning/therapy space. The school have an excellent track record for supporting a broad range of SEND, including SLD and PMLD and has a knowledgeable and supportive SALT. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will closely support students in a classroom setting as well as 1:1 with certain students. You will possess a calm and nurturing demeanour to help with behavioural and emotional regulation when their behaviour is challenging. You will need to be positive and patient, proactive, engaging, and resilient.
