Are you a SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a supportive environment to grow?

 

I am working with a fantastic specialist SEN school in Redbridge that prides itself in its ability to encourage all students to reach their full potential and achieve a sense of well-being and value, preparing them for the later stages of their lives. This school caters for students between 11-19 with a diagnosis of ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) complex learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.

This school is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join its ambitious team, to help change the lives of young people and pave the pathways of their futures.

Requirements of a SEN Teaching Assistant

  • The SEN Teaching Assistant must have experience working with ASC and challenging behaviours
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • A SEN Teaching Assistant must be able to set professional boundaries whilst keeping students engaged in activities
  • Knowledge and experience using PECS/Makaton
  • Supporting with personal care is essential
  • As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you must be able to manage challenging behaviours
  • A genuine passion to help vulnerable young people reach their full potential and goals
  • Restraint/Intervention training is beneficial
