I am currently working with a Community Special School in Hounslow that are looking for SEN Teaching Assistants to work in both primary and secondary classes across the school. We are keen to speak to  individuals who have a true passion and drive to make a positive impact on the SEND sector. 

 

SLCN/ASD/MLD Special School

  • SEND mixed school for pupils aged 4 – 16 years of age
  • Specialises in Speech, Language and Communication needs, Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties
  • Therapy dog on site to support children with emotional regulation
  • One of the largest SEND schools in the country
  • Dedicated sensory rooms and therapy suites with a life skills room for the Key stage 3 and 4 pupils to learn independent life skills

Expectations as a SEN Teaching Assistant

  • To confidently support pupils with ASD, MLD and Speech, Language and Communication needs
  • To be able to work across the school – Early years to Key stage 4
  • Provide therapeutic support, based on their individual social, educational and intellectual needs

What We Are Looking For – SEN Teaching Assistant

  • Previous experience working with children and young people with SEND – ASD/MLD/Speech and Language experience is a bonus
  • Have a genuine desire to build a career around Special Educational Needs!
  • A bubbly and proactive personality who is not afraid to use their initiative in any given situation  
  • Exceptional ability to build strong and honest relationships with staff and students
  • Any relevant training such as Makaton, PECs, Colourful Semantics,  
  • Is within commutable distance from Hounslow
