Parker Smith Inclusion is currently working closely with a holistic school based in the London Borough of Croydon who are currently seeking a SENCO to join their supportive and hardworking team for September 2024.

The school supports students with social, emotional, mental and health needs. Their mission is to provide an inclusive and supportive environment where all their students can learn and grow in a safe environment. They offer a balanced curriculum with individualised learning and therapeutic support provided.

This would be an excellent role for either an established SENCO or an SEN Teacher who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Your Role:

As SENCO, you will provide inspiring and purposeful leadership to staff and pupils, ensuring that every child reaches their full potential. You will be responsible for the effective implementation of School Education Health Care Plans, supporting the inclusion of all pupils, and driving continuous improvement in our school's provision for SEND.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the SEN Development Plan, ensuring our school remains at the forefront of inclusive education. Monitor and evaluate the performance of our SEND policies and practices to ensure they meet national, local, and school requirements.
  • Teaching and Learning: Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches for pupils with SEND. Collaborate with teachers to tailor learning activities that meet the individual needs of our pupils, fostering their independence and academic growth.
  • Staff Development: Lead the transition to the new SEND Code of Practice. Provide training opportunities for teaching assistants, teachers, and other staff, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to support our pupils effectively.
  • Collaboration: Build and maintain professional relationships with children, families, local authorities, and other professionals. Liaise with the Governing Body to inform them of progress and ensure high standards across all key stages.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Set challenging targets for pupils with SEND, ensuring early identification and intervention. Keep parents informed about their child's progress and work closely with them to support their development.
  • Quality Assurance: Promote a positive ethos and inclusive culture within the school. Ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities and support their general progress and well-being.

The school offers excellent benefits to their staff such as:

  • Occupational sick pay
  • Progression opportunities
  • Comprehensive and tailored induction programme
  • Face-to-face therapeutic training and support for all colleagues
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Community and well-being care
  • High quality CPD opportunities
  • Free eye checks
  • Cashback healthcare plan
