Are you a SENCO looking for a rewarding position within a SEND School?

I am looking for a Qualified SENCO to fill a position within a SEND School which specialises in Autism. This role would be maternity cover for the school’s current SENCO, and you would be working in a supportive environment with management which truly cares for supporting you. The school is newly built with a bespoke design to cater to the needs of the students and staff, and there is a real positive aura about the school.

Students range between ages 4 to 16, with students working at different levels across the school. All students will have a diagnosis of Autism, with some having additional needs alongside this.

Duties include:

  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
  • Being responsible for the coordination of all therapies, including liaison with therapists, arranging timetables, referrals and review of impact
  • Delivering training and intervention in the communication and sensory provision
  • Coordinating the annual review process
  • Coordinating family support: FEH, TAFs
  • Contributing to whole school safeguarding coordination through their role as DDSL
  • Coordinating attendance monitoring, analysis and support
  • Be responsible for day-to-day co-ordination of therapeutic provision to support individual pupils / groups of pupils and their families
  • The SENCO will also be expected to fulfil the responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the STPCD
