Some schools simply feel different the moment you walk in, calmer, more purposeful, and built entirely around the children who need the most thoughtful teaching. This specialist SEND setting in Kingston is exactly that.
The school supports pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autism/ASC, all of whom have EHCPs. It’s a place where progress is measured in small, meaningful steps; where safety, structure and communication come first; and where teachers are genuinely supported to do their best work.
If you are considering a move into SEND, or you already work within the sector but feel ready for a better environment, this could be the change you’ve been searching for.
Why this school stands out
This is a setting where everything from the building's layout to the curriculum approach has been carefully designed with intention.
Small class groups with excellent staffing ratios
Calm, low-arousal classrooms with sensory-friendly design
A therapeutic, multidisciplinary team working alongside you
Leadership that listens, supports, and makes sure staff never feel alone in the classroom
This isn’t firefighting. It’s thoughtful teaching with the right structures around you.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll lead a small class of pupils who each experience the world in their own way. Your teaching will be highly personalised, creative and rooted in communication, regulation and connection.
You’ll be using approaches such as:
Multi-sensory and experiential learning
Structured routines and visual supports
Individualised planning with tiny, meaningful steps
Close collaboration with therapists and behaviour specialists
Assistive technology and interactive tools
Strategies that reduce anxiety and build emotional regulation
Progress here doesn’t look like rushing through levels. It seems like trust… consistency… the first time a pupil uses a new sign… engages for the whole session… or shows confidence you haven’t seen before.
Those moments are everything.
What the school offers you
Small, well-resourced classes where your impact is felt every day
Modern, specialist facilities designed for complex needs
A supportive, highly skilled therapy and leadership team
Genuine training and development in PMLD, SLD, Autism and sensory approaches
A clear pathway if you’re exploring future leadership roles

Who we’re looking for
A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS)
Someone with strong classroom practice and a calm, reflective approach
Experience with PMLD/SLD/ASC is desirable but absolutely not essential

Occupational Therapist – Band 7 (or strong Band 6 ready to step up)
North London | Full time | Flexible working - Some WFH
Supporting those who help children navigate their world with confidence and independence is work filled with meaning and purpose.
You might already be thriving at Band 7. Or you might be a confident Band 6 ready for your next challenge. You’ll bring creativity, clinical curiosity and a passion for inclusion. Experience supporting autistic pupils, those with sensory processing differences, or physical access needs will be an advantage, but above all, you’ll bring an approach that is flexible, empathetic and solution-focused.
We are now looking for a skilled Occupational Therapist to join a forward-thinking education-based service in North London. Someone who believes that occupational therapy is about empowering children to participate fully in school life, not just fixing difficulties, but creating inclusive environments where every learner can thrive.
This is a varied and rewarding role. You’ll spend around three days a week in schools, working directly with pupils, advising staff, and modelling strategies that support access, regulation and engagement. You’ll help schools understand sensory needs, motor development and environmental adaptations. You’ll supervise therapy assistants, contribute to service development, and collaborate closely with a strong multi-disciplinary team of speech and language therapists, educational psychologists and other SEND specialists.
Autonomy matters here. You’ll manage your own diary and shape your working week. Collaboration matters too. You’ll join a team that truly values shared learning, professional dialogue and evidence-informed practice.
If you want a role that combines professional autonomy with genuine purpose, a chance to shape practice, influence systems, and create impact that lasts, this could be the perfect next step.
If you feel you have the experience, ideas and vision to join us on this journey, please contact Emilie by emailing emilie@psinclusion.co.uk or call 020 3011 4848.
