We are seeking a skilled and passionate Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist school supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone with at least 1 year’s SEN experience and a Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification who is ready to make a meaningful difference.
About the School
Our partner schools provide education for pupils with a wide range of complex needs — including sensory, medical, and physical disabilities. Many learners are non-verbal, use wheelchairs, and require high levels of individualised care. Classrooms can vary from calm, sensory-focused settings to more dynamic and physically demanding environments — but always with the shared aim of promoting dignity, growth, and development for every child.
Your Role Will Include
Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to EHCPs and learning plans
Facilitating sensory, therapeutic, and play-based learning sessions
Using communication aids such as PECS, visual timetables, and assistive technology
Supporting with personal care (toileting, feeding, hoisting — full training provided)
Building a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils can thrive

Minimum of 1 year’s experience with children or young people with SEND
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
Confidence in working with pupils with PMLD, complex needs, or physical disabilities
