PE Teaching Assistant / Sports Teaching Assistant

Are you a Sports/Physical Education graduate looking for a route into teaching? Perhaps you are a Sports Coach or have previous experience supporting PE in a school?

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people who cannot access mainstream education due to their social, emotional and mental health?

I am actively seeking an engaging and passionate Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to work in a SEMH specialist school that provides education to children who are unable to be educated in a mainstream school due to behaviour difficulties. I am looking to speak to professional and committed Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to work in a SEMH setting in the Greenwich area.

The role is working within the secondary PE department supporting behaviour and learning. The school has teacher training programmes and is looking to develop a sports specialist practitioner.

Even if your experience is informal/voluntary, I want to hear from you! The children you will support will have a variety of needs which can include significant complex behaviour challenges.

Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant requirements:

  • Experience of working with young people with SEMH, Autism, behavioural issues, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication
  • Sports coaching or PE Learning Support or equivalent experience
  • Learning Mentor/ Youth Worker experience -SEMH Teaching Assistant
  • Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
  • A passion for working with SEND is essential
