We are working with a range of fantastic schools in the London borough of Harrow to find Graduate Teaching Assistants to support students with additional needs, this role in particular is to support KS1 students within a Mainstream Primary School each with an individual EHCP (Education Health Care Plan), the students within this school require extra support inside and outside of the classroom, you would need to manage behaviour, re-direct them to their classwork, work on social skills and communication skills, and other general support.
We have different opportunities available to work with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health, students with Autism, students removed from mainstream education, SEND provisions in mainstream schools and students with other needs.
These opportunities are long-term roles and would see you working in a single school of your choosing.

The role
I am seeking a fantastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic team in a Mainstream Primary School based in Hillingdon.
This fantastic school has a brand new, purpose-built building with excellent teaching facilities.
They also have a great SEN inclusion room where they have specialist TA’s and teachers to support children with various needs, such as Autism.
I am looking for a HLTA with previous experience as a HLTA or TA with experience of leading a team of TA’s. You should be passionate about your job and really have a passion to support the education of young, vulnerable people.
Duties
· To undertake the daily supervision and teaching of students in the Inclusion Room and Learning Resource Centre.
· To liaise with Heads of Department to ensure students have access to suitable resources.
· To ensure that students have full access to the curriculum while they are in the Inclusion Room and Learning Resource Centre.
· To liaise with the SEND department to ensure that students are receiving additional learning support during their placement.
· To work with the pastoral team in order to understand the needs and behaviours of the students being referred.
· To provide behavioural and emotional support for students who have been placed in the Inclusion area.
· Assess, record and report on development, progress and behaviour.
· Liaise with staff and other relevant professionals and provide information about pupils as appropriate.
· Support pupils with their social and emotional well-being, by developing effective SEMH strategies for students during their placement.
· Support the role of parents/carers in pupils’ learning and contribute to meetings with parents/carers to provide constructive feedback on pupil progress/achievement etc.
· To ensure students have a clear reintegration plan at the end of their placement and to monitor their reintegration back to mainstream.
· Liaise with external agencies on a regular basis.
· Supervise students at breaks and lunchtimes and take duties as required.
· To take a positive approach to behaviour by forging strong and respectful relations with students.
· To contribute to the school’s rich extra curricula programme.
· To work effectively within a team, support colleagues and not be afraid to ask for support.
· To take responsibility for your own professional development including attending relevant CPD events and identifying personal developmental targets.
