Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Autism Specialism Teaching Assistant 

£400 - £550 PAYE Per Week

Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4pm

I work with an excellent special needs school in the London Borough of Merton. I am looking for a passionate and dedicated Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to start long-term to permanent roles as early as possible! This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to gain practical and clinical experience working with primary or secondary-aged students, 1:1 and in group settings.

 

What you can expect as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant  

  • Your role as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant will be to support students with special educational needs; however, the role will vary from day to day; you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations
  • For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer a relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path
  • Continued Professional Development 
  • You will have an opportunity as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to make a huge social impact as a specialist Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant.
  • A long-term contract with an opportunity to transition into a permanent contract

Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant requirements

  • Educated to degree level
  • Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
  • Ideally, previous experience (formal or informal) supporting children with autism or other special educational needs
  • A proactive, positive individual who always strives to meet children's learning needs.
  • Ability to build rapport with children
