Primary Autism Lead Teacher – Specialist Therapeutic Provision
Ealing, West London
£50,000 – £55,000 per annum
Full-time, Permanent or Long-term Contract to Permanent
January / February start
Interviews taking place ASAP
This is not a mainstream primary role with SEN elements. It is a specialist position for teachers who have chosen Autism as their long-term focus.
A specialist therapeutic SEND provision in West London is recruiting a Primary Autism Lead Teacher to work with a small group of autistic pupils who have complex communication, sensory, and emotional regulation needs. This is a setting where progress is not rushed, behaviour is understood as communication, and relationships take precedence over outcomes.
Structure here is built around the child, not the timetable.
The School
This is a calm, low-arousal, highly structured primary provision supporting pupils with:
Autism (ASC)
Complex communication needs
Pre-verbal and non-verbal profiles
Sensory processing differences
Emotional regulation and attachment needs
Class sizes are intentionally small, with high staffing ratios and experienced specialist support staff. Practice is consistent, predictable and grounded in emotional safety, routine and trust.
Transition Is Central to This Role
A key part of this position involves planned transition work. Pupils are gradually supported into the learning environment, which may include outreach-style work, such as structured home visits. Transitions are paced carefully to ensure they are safe, regulated and genuinely successful.
The Role
As the Primary Autism Lead Teacher, you will:
Lead teaching for a small group of autistic pupils
Deliver highly differentiated, developmentally appropriate primary learning
Create predictable routines that support regulation and emotional safety
Support pupils through a structured transition period, including outreach work
Model calm, trauma-informed and autism-informed practice
Work closely with families and external professionals
Support pupils who may require close adult attachment
Adapt teaching approaches for pre-verbal and non-verbal learners
Maintain clear, consistent boundaries while building strong, trusting relationships
Some personal or intimate care may be required on an ad hoc basis, depending on pupil needs.
This Role Will Suit You If You:
Are an experienced primary teacher with strong Autism experience
Have worked in specialist SEND, therapeutic or autism-specific provisions
Are confident in supporting complex communication and sensory needs
Stay regulated when behaviour communicates anxiety or distress
Value depth, consistency and relationship-led practice
Are comfortable working flexibly, including outreach-style transition support
Are ready for meaningful, practice-led leadership responsibility
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
If you are interested, apply now or contact Heeji Moon at Parker Smith Inclusion.

SEN Teacher
Special School for Pupils with Complex Needs and PMLD
MPS–UPS | Full Time | Permanent or Temp to Perm
A SEND school in Haringey is looking for a dedicated and nurturing teacher to join their specialist setting, supporting pupils with a wide range of complex needs. The school provides education for children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, physical disabilities, communication difficulties, and significant developmental needs.
Teaching at this school is centred around a highly personalised and sensory-based curriculum. Staff work closely with therapists, support workers, and families to ensure each pupil has the right level of care, structure, and opportunity to progress. Every day focuses on communication, emotional regulation, independence and helping pupils experience success in a way that is meaningful to them.
Class sizes are small with strong support from experienced teaching assistants and specialist staff. This allows teachers to take a creative, flexible and child-centred approach, adapting learning to each pupil’s abilities, interests and sensory needs. The school values teamwork, patience and a calm, consistent attitude.
The ideal teacher will have experience or a strong interest in working with children with complex needs or PMLD. You should be patient, adaptable and open to using sensory resources, visuals, routines and therapeutic teaching approaches. A positive attitude, a collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to helping every pupil feel safe and valued are essential.
Whether you are an experienced SEND teacher or a mainstream teacher looking to move into a specialist environment, this role offers a highly rewarding opportunity to make a difference in a school that celebrates every small step of progress.

Pupil Referral Unit – Inner London
MPS–UPS3 | Full Time | Temp to Perm
January 2026
Teaching in a PRU is not just a jobnit’s a calling. Every day brings moments of challenge, growth, and genuine impact. You already understand that strong relationships are at the heart of teaching, but in a busy mainstream environment, it can be hard to give each child what they truly need. If you’re ready for a role where your presence, patience, and belief in young people genuinely change lives, this could be your next step.
We are working alongside a dedicated Pupil Referral Unit offering specialist support for primary-aged pupils who have struggled to access mainstream education. These children may display heightened emotions, behavioural challenges, or have experienced instability that has shaped how they respond to school. What they need is a teacher who sees beyond the behaviour, someone who recognises their potential, their story, and their strengths.
In this PRU, teaching feels different. Class sizes are small, allowing you to build meaningful, trusting relationships. Success is celebrated in many forms: improved self-regulation, a positive interaction, a moment of confidence, or small steps back towards a love of learning. Every child follows a personalised curriculum built around their needs, abilities, and emotional development.
You may already have experience within SEMH or alternative provision. You might simply have the resilience, empathy, and creativity to work with young people who need a fresh start. What matters is your ability to remain calm, curious, and consistent and your commitment to understanding behaviour as a form of communication.
This is a role for a teacher who refuses to give up, who can think outside the box, and who wants to be part of a team that transforms challenges into breakthroughs.
If you’re ready to work in a setting where your impact is seen and felt every day, we would love to hear from you.

MPS–UPS3 Inner London | Full time | Temp to Perm
Working as a primary school teacher, your days will be filled with purpose. You already know that relationships matter. Creating a place where children can thrive requires patience, understanding, and dedication. Yet, reaching those who need the most support in a mainstream classroom often feels impossible. You’re stretched too thin, and you may be starting to lose sight of the reason you became a teacher. Perhaps it’s time for a role where your impact can be truly felt.
We are working with a Pupil Referral Unit, supporting children in their primary provision who have found mainstream education overwhelming, unsuitable, or emotionally unsafe. They need compassionate, grounded, and resilient teachers who see past behaviour to the child underneath.
Here, small class sizes allow meaningful relationships to flourish. Success is measured not just in academic progress, but in trust built, confidence restored, and milestones celebrated. Every child receives a curriculum tailored to their individual strengths, challenges, and emotional needs.
You may already have experience working with SEMH pupils. You may simply have the heart for it. What matters is your calm, curiosity, flexibility, and belief that every child can thrive when they feel safe.
This is a role for teachers who understand behaviour as communication, work creatively, and are ready to join a team that refuses to give up on its pupils.
If you are ready to be challenged, to grow, and to make a real difference in children’s lives, we would love to hear from you.

Primary Autism Specialist Teacher
Ealing, West London
£50,000 – £55,000 per annum
Full-time (term time only)
End of January 2026 start
Interviews ASAP
There are some roles where you instinctively know the real work happens long before the classroom doors open. This is one of them.
A specialist service in West London is looking for an experienced Primary Autism Specialist Teacher to support a small group of primary-aged pupils as they prepare to transition into a new, highly individualised learning environment.
These pupils have a range of Autism profiles, including verbal, pre-verbal, and non-verbal presentations, as well as more complex presentations. They will rely heavily on consistent relationships, calm communication, and careful planning as they transition into their new setting. Your work will start in the community, not the classroom: home visits, transition sessions, and building enough trust that September feels safe rather than overwhelming.
If you are grounded, flexible, and genuinely motivated by long-term, relational work with autistic pupils, this could be a career-defining role.
The Structure
You will work within a therapeutic, collaborative model:
1 Specialist Teacher & 3 Teaching Assistants
A friendly and supportive team, mirroring an outreach-style approach where modelling, shared practice, and consistency matter more than hierarchy. Everyone leads from the front. Everyone supports each other.
Some personal or intimate care may be required on an occasional basis. Pupils’ needs come first, and the team works together to ensure this is handled with dignity and care.
What You Will Be Doing
No two days look the same, but your work may include:
Visiting pupils in their homes during the first 2 months of the transition period
Supporting autistic pupils who are verbal, pre-verbal, non-verbal, or have complex communication needs
Working closely with one particularly complex pupil who may attach to you
Leading and modelling practice for your support team
Planning and shaping routines, sensory approaches, and learning structures
Embedding therapeutic, low-arousal practice in every part of the day
This is a role for someone who is energised by the process of building something, not just maintaining it.
Who This Role Suits
You will thrive here if you are:
Must have QTS or QTLS
Confident and experienced in working with autistic pupils across the communication spectrum
Comfortable responding to dysregulation, anxiety, and behaviours that can initially present as antisocial
Flexible enough to manage home visits, transitions, and varied locations
Resilient, reflective, and steady when the day shifts unexpectedly
Interested in shaping a new team and structure rather than stepping into something pre-built
Open to leadership with middle-lead pathways available from next September
Experience in Primary SEND settings is highly beneficial.
