I am working with a special school in London Borough of Newham that are seeking passionate, dedicated teaching assistants from September 2025 to work with 5 - 15 year olds that have autism, complex needs and challenging behaviour, could it be you? Also, as this school is part of a larger trust you are guranteed to recieve further training, teacher training pathways and a supportive environment to encourage you to meet your career goals. You don't need to have professional experience within a school to be considered for this role, if you have personal experience with special needs, volunteering experience or you're a graduate looking to kick start your career within SEND this school are open to all! All they ask is for the dedication and genuine interest to supporting these children on a daily basis. Key Responsibilities: Support students with autism and complex needs, including those with behavioural challenges. Assist with classroom activities, providing one-to-one and small group support. Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Provide assistance with personal hygiene needs where required. Foster a safe, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment. Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCO to support student progress. Participate in trial days as part of the interview process. Requirements: Previous experience working with children with SEN (preferred but not essential). A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A passion for education and helping children thrive. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not mandatory. An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
