The SEMH Teaching Assistant role:
I am working with a SEMH Primary School in Hillingdon that is actively seeking a passionate, and engaging SEMH teaching assistant, who is looking to change the lives of the younger generation!
- Class-based role, with children based in KS1 & KS2, who are all at risk of not achieving their full potential due to their SEMH needs (Social Emotional Mental Health).
- Opportunity to work with children with SEMH, ASC, ADHD and Complex Behavioural Challenges
- Small classes with a maximum of 12 students per class, most students are being supported on a 121 basis so there is a lot of support across the staff team.
- Focused on providing basic numeracy & literacy skills, to support the transition back into mainstream or further education.
The perfect SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- The preferred person will have an absolute passion for supporting children's education, & helping them believe that they can accomplish anything!
- Any experience with children with SEMH needs is preferred, but this experience does not have to be in a classroom.
- Thick-skinned and strong-willed, you must have a good sense of humour and a positive outlook
- Eager to learn and passionate about supporting vulnerable children
- We are looking for someone with the ability to build & maintain meaningful relationships, and most importantly, someone who is not afraid of a challenge!
